    What is Alberta PNP (Provincial Nominee Program)?

    The Alberta PNP or Provincial Nominee Program is a programme that nominates people for permanent residence in Alberta, Canada. Nominees must have the necessary skills to fill job shortages or be planning to buy or start a business in Alberta. They must be able to support their families as well. The Alberta and Canadian governments are in charge of the programme.

    If you are nominated through the programme, you and your spouse or common-law partner, as well as any dependent children, may apply for Canada permanent residency status.

    Applications for permanent residence are handled by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Final decisions on these applications are also made by the federal government.

    How many points are required for Alberta PNP Program?

    Alberta has a structured selection process for skilled immigrants. This system is very similar to the Federal Selection System. Based on an individual’s personal credentials, the Canada PNP point calculator shortlists candidates with at least 67 points out of 100. Age, Educational Qualification, Work Experience, and English Language Ability are the credentials in the PNP score calculator. It also takes into account other factors such as arranging employment in the province (job offer from an employer operating within Alberta) and adaptability (previous work/study in Canada).

    Which Alberta Provincial Nominee Program is the simplest to obtain Canada PR?

    Alberta PNP is one of Canada’s most straightforward provincial nominee programmes for obtaining a nomination for Canada PR and, ultimately, the PR itself. The AINP Express Entry aligned Stream accepts applicants with CRS scores as low as 300 CRS points.

    Who is eligible to apply?

    Have expressed an interest in permanently relocating to Alberta – and have strong ties to the province; work in an occupation that contributes to Alberta’s economic development and diversification; and A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 300 is required.

    Meet the requirements of at least one federal immigration programme: Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Worker Program Intention to and ability to live and work in Alberta.


    To Qualify for Alberta PNP, you need to have a minimum 67 points out of 100. These points are known as the Alberta PNP Eligiblity points.

    To be eligible for Alberta PNP you must have a Active Express Entry Profile, Education and Work Experience in high demand Occupation, English or French Language proficiency. 

    You don’t need a Job Offer to apply for Alberta PNP, You just need to have an Express Entry Profile. It is not mandatory to have an offer letter but this will increase your chances of Nomination.

    Generally, it takes between 6-15 Months depending on other factors.
