Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) 2024

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is a commercial immigration programme that nominates people to live in Alberta permanently. Nominees must hold skills to fill job shortages or intend to purchase or start a corporate in Alberta. They must be able to provision their people as well. The Alberta and Canadian administrations are in responsibility of the creativity.

If you are chosen under the programme, you and your spouse or common-law partner, as well as any dependent children, may apply for permanent residence status.

Permanent residence requests are handled by Migration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. These requests are similarly obvious by the federal government.

Alberta Opportunity Stream – Eligibility

Requirements for residency and work permits

You must have a valid temporary residence status in Canada that permits you to work in Canada, such as a temporary foreign worker permit, at the time your application is acquiesced and the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) measures your application.

Applicants who are eligible

You must have a valid work permit when you submit your application and when the AINP evaluates it – not status retained throughout processing or restoration status.

Applicants who are ineligible

The following people are unable to apply for the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) or be nominated for it:

  1. Individuals involved in a federal appeal or removal procedure – the AINP does not intervene in federal refugee claims, appeals, or removals.
  2. Temporary residents of Canada who live or work in a province or territory other than Alberta, or
  3. Foreign nationals who are living or working in Canada but do not have a valid temporary resident visa.

Qualifications for work experience

Your ‘current occupation’ is the one in which you are employed at the time you submit your application.

Your current occupation must also reflect your job experience at the time you submit your application and when the AINP evaluates it.

Work experience that qualifies

You must have one of the following at the time you submit your application:

  1. In the last 18 months, you have worked full-time in your present occupation in Alberta for at least 12 months, or
  2. Within the last 30 months, a minimum of 24 months of full-time work experience in your present occupation in Canada or abroad, or both — this work experience can be a combination of experience earned in Alberta, Canada (outside of Alberta), or internationally.
