Quebec’s economy is advanced, market-based, and open. The province’s economy has changed dramatically in the previous decade, with a strong foundation in the knowledge sector. It has one of the greatest gross domestic product (GDP) growth rates in Canada.
Quebec must fill a skilled labour shortage in order to keep up with the province’s booming economy. Quebec has a specific agreement with Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that allows them to nominate individuals with the necessary qualifications and work experience to become permanent residents of the province. The Quebec Skilled Worker Program is the name of this immigration path for skilled immigrants.
